Infuse Your Homemade Beverages With CBD

By now, the medical benefits of regularly ingesting CBD for such things as anxiety, heart, neurological conditions and skin problems, are well known and publicized. This has made CBD readily available in many forms like tinctures, oils, capsules, and even gummies. It is being infused in skincare regimes, wellness products, spa treatments, and pet products, but what about adding CBD to things you enjoy making at home like a latte or cocktail?

We have gathered a few CBD-infused drink recipes from around the web to share with you, but first, a few CBD mixing tips:

Know the difference between CBD oils and tinctures. Tinctures are alcohol-based, which means that they will mix well into your drink. Oil tends to separate or sit on top of the drink. Both are great, but they create different effects, so be aware which one the recipe calls for.
Know your CBD dosage. If you are unsure of your proper dose, start with 25 mg, and go from there. Don’t double your dosage with two drinks, simply split the dosage if you plan on two, or skip the CBD if you put your entire dose in the first drink.
Make sure your CBD is high-quality. Low-quality CBD can contain unhealthy chemicals, pesticides, and heavy metals. Make sure that it is natural, and lab tested for purity and quality.

Lattes: Hot and Iced

Fermented Turmeric Infused Latte

1 tsp fermented turmeric

2 tsp coconut sugar

½ tsp cinnamon

¼ tsp black pepper

¼ cup full-fat coconut milk (add more for a frothier latte)

1 cup hot water

CBD oil

Add dry ingredients to your favorite mug and combine
Fill ¾ full of water
Top with coconut milk and stir
Add CBD oil and stir well

CBD Infused Caramel Latte

1 cup milk

1 drop vanilla extract

½ tbsp spirulina powder

2 tbsp ground cinnamon

1 cup ice (separated)

1 drop spearmint (optional)

CBD oil

Stevia

Place all ingredients except CBD and ½ the ice in the blender for 30 seconds
Add the CBD oil and ice and blend again for 30 seconds
Add stevia to taste

Cocktails

CBD Gin & Tonic

1 ½ oz gin

3 ½ oz tonic water

¼ oz lemon juice

15 mg CBD oil

Aromatic of your choice (marijuana leaf, lime wheel, grapefruit peel, edible flowers, herbs, or peppercorns)

Combine gin, lemon juice, and tonic water in a glass and top with ice.
Add aromatic(s).
Float the CBD oil on the top

CBD Mint Julep

4 mint leaves + 2 for garnish

½ oz simple syrup

2 ½ oz bourbon

15 mg CBD tincture

Ice

Crush the mint leaves in a cup and add the simple syrup and CBD tincture
Add the bourbon to the mix
Add the remaining mint leaves and ice

CBD Pimm’s Cup

2 oz Pimm’s Original No. 1 Cup

¾ oz lemon juice

½ oz simple syrup

3 slices cucumber

3 cannabis leaves (optional)

1 oz ginger beer

15 mg CBD tincture

Crush the cucumber, cannabis leaves, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker
Add Pimm’s, lemon juice, and CBD, shake with ice, then strain into a chilled ice-filled glass
Add 1 oz ginger beer and garnish with cucumber

CBD Lemonade

4 cups water

Lemon juice

CBD tincture

2 oz vodka

Simple syrup

Orange twist

Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker
Add ice and shake again for 20 seconds
Serve in martini glasses with an orange twist

CBD Mezcal Margarita

1 oz mezcal

1 oz aquavit

¾ oz lime juice

¾ oz agave syrup

1 oz cannabis leaf juice or other green juice (celery, arugula, kale)

1 pinch sea salt

15 mg CBD tincture

Cannabis leaf, edible flowers, or greens for garnish

In an ice-filled shaker, combine mezcal, aquavit, lime juice, agave syrup, green juice, salt, and CBD tincture
Shake and strain into a glass with ice
Garnish of your choice
