What is CBD Oil?
Cannabidiol oil is an oil created from CBD found in either hemp or marijuana plants. Hemp plants are preferred and used by the best companies producing this oil. It is important to note that CBD oil, whether applied topically or consumed orally, does not present with the side effects commonly associated with “being high,” as these are caused by the other naturally occurring compound found in hemp or marijuana plants – THC.
How Does Hemp CBD Oil Help Those With Arthritis?
Recent studies have shown hemp CBD oil to be effective in reducing both the inflammation and subsequent pain associated with arthritis. One study, accomplished in 2011, showed that the use of CBD oil was effective in reducing inflammation and associated pain by altering the receptors responsible for said pain.
A second survey was conducted in 2016 which saw a reduction in both pain and inflammation in humans who used a topical CBD oil tincture on the affected areas.
A third (and final) survey occurred the following year. The results of this survey showed that the topical application of hemp CBD oil could prove to a useful and effective method of treating joint pain associated with osteoarthritis.
Why It Works
The reason CBD oil appears to be so effective in the treatment of arthritic pain (among other diseases and maladies) is the way it works with the ECS. The ECS, or endocannabinoid system, is found in all mammals. Hemp and marijuana are the only plants currently known to science which activate this system.
The ECS is special, because it involves a two-way response system that not only takes in or receives information but does both. It interacts on some level with all other major systems in the body to promote beneficial responses. This includes the respiratory, cognitive, and immune systems.
