How does it work?
Sometimes people add weight not just because they eat too much but because their bodies are not functioning properly. The human body produces its own natural cannabinoids, called endocannabinoids. These respond to two types of receptors in the body called the CB1 and CB2 receptors. With weight gain, CB2 receptors can be found in many fat cells and regulate how they burn or retain fat.
This is where CBD comes in. CBD is effective in helping these receptors and the body systems work the way they are supposed to.
Some of the ways research has shown CBD helps with weight loss include;
Breaking down stubborn fat; CBD can aid in breaking down white fat cells, which are the bad type of fat cells, into brown fat cells. White fat cells are stubborn fat cells which accumulate around organs and prevent them from working properly. Brown fat cells, however, break down quicker and burn off more energy, leading to a loss of calories, which is what losing weight is mainly about.
Reducing the risk of obesity; According to research, there is a strong link between being obese and suffering from a metabolic disorder like high cholesterol, liver failure, and even diabetes. CBD helps to block off the body’s natural cannabinoid receptors, preventing the weight gain which is responsible for these conditions.
Managing blood sugar levels; As almost everyone knows, being overweight leads to unhealthy blood sugar levels. This condition can cause more weight gain and even lead to diabetes because of insulin resistance. CBD oil lowers these sugar levels and helps the body to absorb glucose better, thus leading to weight loss.
Suppressing appetite; CBD can control certain receptors in the body called CB1 receptors which regulate appetite. Unlike THC which stimulates these same receptors to make people hungry, CBD blocks them off. This action reduces the urge to eat and prevents overeating in some people.
